Baby bear...

I picked up this guy at Savers for a buck or two...It's a 3 picture holder, has the tall metal pieces with the double circles at the top to hold the pictures. It had a pink ribbon. Well that just wont work since my godchilds bedroom is painted orange and we won't know the sex until he or she is born....Sooooo...I repainted it!



You can still see the pink because of the flash, but you can't see it without the bright light, I was pretty happy with how he turned out :)

I love my Kumihimo braiding...it's so relaxing. Kind of like mini-knitting looming :)
I added a vintage mother-of-pearl button so the bracelet would be secure.



Yes, I'm a dork. That's a baby hat I just made. I'll have to time it one of these days start to finish, but I doubt it takes much more than an hour :)

I've been ooohhh so quiet, I know. So sorry. Lets see. I got engaged, photos on my farm blog. :) I haven't been crafting much lately, my wheel just isnt working for me, so no hand spun yarn, though I'm looking at a double treadle Babe that I might pick up to work with. Lots of roving sitting there staring at me. Might try wet felting again one of these days. I also have to start making decorations for the wedding! I will post as soon as I get them started, which will be as soon as I get some more peacock feathers :) Until then, adieu!

Ahhh boredom...

Home sick from work, I've been feeling under the weather for about two weeks now. And so I started playing with fiber....

And Heubert was born!


I think Heubert is appalled by my rush in putting him together. He took about an hour. He'll still probably get some finishing touches, but I like him :)

Okay, yes, I've been VERY slacking...

But I'm working on things! I just started crocheting tonight. The book has stupid pictures, so I went on youtube and finally found one that I can kind of understand. Still probably need to go to my grandmothers and have her teach me to get the real feel for it I'm sure. Plus my yarn isn't behaving, it's caught in the center pull somehow, so I really have to wrench it out. Here's what I've got so far!

More to come...I'm also working on a needle felting project too! Shhh top secret!

TRIUMPHANT!

Da da da daaaa! I win! lol. I got it all casted off by myself...BOTH SIDES! I rock. SOOOO ready for this...so ready. Smudge was "helping" as you can see...But who can get mad at a face like that?! It's not really anything...just a practice run with some yard I had already been playing with so it was a little pulled apart. I'm very excited to start playing with some other stuff :)

I did some of these today, some a few months ago...but I love the effects!

Necklace & sunglasses...And eyes...it's a subtle difference, but biggified it's worth it.




I only did her one eye because the other was darker and it looked funny. I like how it turned out though.

Ended in disaster!

lol oh well. Like an idiot, I pulled out the leader yarn without doing anything with that end...lol. Tard! Oh well, I know have a handle on it, I think I can do that stitch now...on to another! lol.

Practice....

What is it? I dont' know yet...maybe a bag strap? But mostly it's PRACTICE! I haven't used the long looms before, only the circular ones...and let me tell you...it's a bit challenging at first! lol. This is what I believe is the "circular" stitch, but I'm not sure on that one, you can never accept youtube as absolute fact. But the wonderful thing about knitting? If you don't like it, you can disassemble it in one swift pull!

My first needle feltie!

Woooo! I've been really sick as of late, for about 3 weeks off and on, and REALLY sick this week. On the clay board on Yahoo groups, this months challenge is something Halloweenie...so I'll likely be attempting that this month, plus I plan on keeping going with the needle felting...I think I'm in love! Sorry about the crappy lighting...our house lighting sucks! I think the stem is a little big, but it looks good flopped to the side a little. I LOVE it...wish you could see a little more detail on the leaf...I really like how it turned out. I really need better lighting...



And btw, I'm a bad person...I finished Adams' dragon before getting photos of it! But here are SOME photos before he left.

Playing with Sculpey!

Firstly, I wanted another set of horns. Don't know if these will be too heavy or not, but we'll find out I guess. Going to use a piece of yarn or string to get these puppies on.

Then, started on Adams birthday present...a baby dragon! Denny said he looked like a frog...so I added spikes (3rd pic)


Now he needs to get into the oven...don't know how well he'll bake cuz he's pretty thick, but we'll see I guess lol. Still don't know how I"m going to pain his wings....hmmm....
